Unique high-efficiency mechanical shear design
Unlike our competitors' classic eccentric crank mechanical shears, Butech Bliss mechanical shears use a unique means of controlling the motion of the cutting blade. With eccentric crank all motion variables are defined when stroke and speed are specified. In shears this means that you frequently see the highest force precisely at the moment of highest velocity. The Butech Bliss system slows the shear to a constant velocity just prior to making the cut. All rapid machine movements are made before and after making the cut. The result is higher performance with less power.
Patented auto gap adjustment feature
Butech Bliss shears feature a patented "Auto Gap Control" device which allows the machine to automatically adjust the knife blade clearance to the best possible setting. There is no input or adjustment required by the machine operator at any time. The system is reliable, entirely mechanical and virtually maintenance-free. The net result is that ther is no costly downtime spent adjusting knife clearance for the different gauges that the machine will cut. Knife life is significantly increased because an optimum setting is achieved each time a cut is made, and the cut edge is consistently acceptable on every thickness. IN addition to the "auto gap" feature, Butech Bliss can offer two other gap adjustment setup features. The first allows the operator to manually select the gap set point within a wide range of set point selections. The second alternative allows the operator to select from three pre-established set points based on percent of material thickness.
Quick change knife cassette system
Butech Bliss shears can be equiped with an optional removable knife cartridge system. This feature will allow the shear knives to be quickly and safely replaced, and also allows knife maintenance (sharpening and shimming) to be done off line, thus reducing knife changing time. When removed from the shear, the knives can be rotated to any one of 4 cutting edges or sharpened and shimmed and reinstalled in the holder for reuse. For one shear knife holder (top or bottom) the change time will be approximately 10 minutes.
